Our consultancy included auditing the internal and external environment, forming a research partnership with University of Tasmania, training and mentoring staff, refreshing the dining room, implementing a buffet style breakfast, and co-supervising students. During this project, we trained over 170 staff, delivered over 120 hours of training, and provided 60 task boxes. Elizabeth was recently engaged by Juniper to assist with the development of therapeutic pain management programs. Over six months, Memory Box Collective formulated a set of programs including mindfulness, seated dance, reminiscence, and sensory stimulation. Memory Box Collective has completed consultancies at eleven of Juniper’s aged care residences to provide suggestions for improvements on how to improve the social and physical environment, particularly for residents living with dementia. Memory Box Collective has facilitated professional development workshops for Juniper’s therapy assistants over several years, as well as running training sessions for staff and families in dementia and enablement.
